Despite the passage of the massive healthcare reform legislation, and possibly exacerbated by this legislation, these challenges will grow exponentially over the coming decade. Further, the health status of many Americans is marginal or poor because of unhealthy habits and lifestyles. In a word, we have enormous challenges with our healthcare system and with the health status of our fellow citizens.
I decided to do something about this situation by forming The Winkenwerder Company. With nearly 30 years of extraordinary experience as a practicing physician, medical director, corporate health executive, and senior government leader, I concluded there was much to offer to the companies and organizations who are working hard to bring innovation and positive change to our healthcare system – the real transformers of American healthcare who must lead us forward.
